Courses for children

Watercolor Painting Course
The watercolor painting courses offer a creative introduction to painting with watercolors for both children and adults. The courses are suitable for beginners and those with some experience who want to learn basic techniques such as color mixing, layering, wet-on-wet, and composition. Participants receive step-by-step guidance and learn to create their own paintings inspired by nature, animals, and abstract motifs.
For children, the focus is on play, mastery, and imagination, while adults receive more in-depth work on technique, expression, and personal style. All materials can be included, making it easy to get started. The watercolor courses are well suited as a creative leisure activity, teambuilding, or family experience.
Akvarellkurs i Oslo 2023-2024 Kurslærer Xia Hua

Chinese Calligraphy Course

Give your child a brush to the past – and the future
Looking for a hobby that combines art, culture, and deep concentration? Chinese calligraphy is more than just writing; it is “painting meaning.”
In this beginner’s course, children learn to find calm through ink and brushstrokes. Nature’s own elements are explored: Mountain (山), Water (水) and Sky/Heaven (天). Through these three words, children are taken on a historical journey through three unique writing styles:
- Zhuanti (篆体 – Seal Script): The journey begins with the roots. Here, the characters almost look like ancient drawings or hieroglyphs. Children learn form and balance as they draw the story behind the words.
- Kaishu (楷书 – Standard Script): This is where the foundation is built. This style focuses on precision and structure – perfect for developing patience and a steady hand.
- Xingshu (行书 – Running Script): Finally, creativity is set free. Here, the brush flows across the paper. It is like painting running water; free, personal, and beautiful.
Children experience the joy of creating something beautiful with their own hands, while learning an art form that has fascinated the world for thousands of years.
